CHANUKAH/BREAK UP PARTY REPORT

It was just wonderful to have some good old friends join us from other Melbourne IFD classes too.It certainly will be a night to remember for many years to come! The atmosphere was electric, the hall was rockin',  the decorations, the candles, the glitter & glitz - everyone was glowing (you looked fantastic!!) and of course, the food, the food, the food.....Another highlight, particularly for me, was Belinda's birthday dance with her children.

It gave me, and all the other ZOOZ teachers & staff, so much pleasure & satisfaction to see the obvious delight on your faces when you were dancing & during the candle-lighting & singing. 
I am so proud to say that most of the dancers were our own ZOOZ'ies ...ie. "home-grown" dancers - some for their first ever party, and also many of our "old timers" who have never missed any of our parties since 2006 (when ZOOZ started).
A lovely cross-section of dancers of all levels, from each of our classes, holding hands and celebrating the evening together.

My grateful thanks to all the ZOOZ teachers, Belinda, Cindy & Annette, our Trainee Teacher, Ariella, and our Teachers' Assistants, Colette & Helena for the pure pleasure of dancing & teaching together, throughout the year. Big thanks to Sam, Suzy, Jack, & Claude for all that you have done to support the teaching staff & all the work behind the scenes.

I would like to especially thank Sheffi Shapira for teaching my Tuesday night beginners' class whilst I was overseas & for adding so much fun & joy in our class. Sheffi gave apologies for being unable to attend the party, as unfortunately he was feeling unwell.  We are all thrilled & delighted to have Sheffi join the  ZOOZ Teaching Staff in 2012!! I am particularly looking forward to sharing fun, inspiration & learning with Sheffi, on Tuesday evenings next year!!

It was fantastic that our ex-assistant teacher, Laura, could be present for our Chanukah party. Laura has always been a great support & is still involved with a lot of our ZOOZ staff meetings & decisions. At our previous party we did a fun link up with Laura via Skype. It was MUCH better to have her actually dancing with us in the flesh! Unfortunately she is returning to Israel early in January & we will miss her very much. We wish her & her fiance Sharon, all the very best for the future together. 

And most importantly, once again, a big thank you to YOU for your ongoing support during 2011! We are so looking forward to teaching you some more fabulous new dances next year!  Our ZOOZ team will be taking some well-earned holidays and return refreshed in January to begin 2012 with a limited timetable for the first week back.  1st Classes back will be:- Tuesday morning, 10th January 2012, 9.30 am - 12.30 pm ALL LEVELS (Scout Hall, Miller St. Elsternwick) & Thursday evening, 12th January - also a combined class for ALL LEVELS from 7.45 pm - 10.45 pm at rear of St John's, 5 Finch St. E. Malvern
