November was a busy time for ZOOZ! Our performance group of 8 marvellous girls performed at the Glenhuntly Primary School fete on Saturday 12th to a welcoming multi-cultural crowd. All of their hard work paid-off and they did an outstanding job. It was an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all involved, both in the rehearsal period and on the actual day. Preparing for a performance gives dancers the opportunity to fine-tune their knowledge of dances as well as develop their style and also brings an increase in confidence and of course, social benefits. We hope to see the girls out there again soon and in 2006 will be offering more opportunities for people interested to get involved in ZOOZ performances.
We'd like to thank Henya Silverstein, Margo Pogos, Nuray Weinberg, Cindy Berg, Doris Imber (Back row) Judy Joel, Miriam Atzil, Colette Lipp (front row) for dedicating their time and efforts to making the event a great success.
On Sunday 20 th November, ZOOZ attended the JNF Buddies Bonanza for young children and their families. Belinda (our Kids Classes teacher) along with Richelle, led the enthusiastic littlies through the classic kids dance ‘Noladati La Shalom’ as well as some of the newer age-appropriate line dances. Thank you to JNF for having us – you put on a wonderful and innovative event! Straight from the JNF Function, ZOOZ was off to the Gardenvale Primary School fete where Richelle, Belinda and Brooke (Mother, daughter and granddaughter trio) took to the stage and taught the crowd a mix of dances, even a line dance to Madonna’s ‘Hung Up’ which is currently top of the music charts. With music blaring, we were hard to miss! Thank you to the 8 children that joined us up on the stage off their own bat as well as the group of kids on the ground in front of the stage who enthusiastically followed along. It was great fun and truly sentimental to have 3 generations dancing together as a team. |
