The ZOOZ workshop on Sunday 30th July was a great one! We enjoyed a good turn out, fabulous dances, plenty of challenges and of course yummy fruit and cake!!  Richelle, Belinda and Cindy taught Debka Ramot, Isha Al Hachof and Mitgaage'a which are all advanced-level dances showcasing the diversity of Israeli folk dancing. All 3 are very popular in sessions all around the world and will now be introduced into our repertoire and revised at the Thursday evening and Tuesday morning classes.

Richelle wrote to Mali & Moshe to check with them whether they wanted us to teach the dance the way it is danced at other sessions here in Melbourne - waving the right arm as you go into the centre and when you go out of the centre. They asked that we teach it with the arm waving ONLY at the end of the dance, which is the way they choreographed the dance.

With regard to Debka Ramot, Richelle also emailed Eileen Weinstock & Moshe Eskayo to check whether the turns are on the 3rd count or the 5th (in Melbourne, the dance was taught & is danced with the turns on the 5th count) Eileen insisted we teach it the way it was choreographed, and has never been changed by Moshe!! So at the workshop, we taught it the way it was choreographed.

So if you see us dancing dances "differently" at ZOOZ, there is always a reason!!

Thanks to all who attended. We hope that by the end of the workshop session your brains weren't too overloaded to enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon!
