On Tuesday morning, 28th October at 9.30 am at the Scout Hall, 2 Miller Street, Elsternwick, before our regular intermediate to advanced class, we held a breakfast to raise money for breast cancer research. We all had a great time eating & shmoozing, and then dancing it all off!

The good news is that as at 31st Oct, we have now raised $576, thanks to a further $50 donation from one of our dancers!! This is way more than DOUBLE the amount we expected to raise!! FABULOUS EFFORT! Some of the money was donated online prior to the breakfast, other people donated on the day. You should have all been issued with your receipts which are tax deductible.There will be photos posted on our website photo gallery shortly.

Thank you so much to all the dancers and our friends who attended the breakfast and to those dancers who could not come for various reasons, but still gave very generous donations. The breakfast was happily donated by Belinda and Richelle.

Sarah Arber,(z'l)(MHDSRIP)who was Sam's mother, Richelle's mother-in-law, & Belinda's grandmother, passed away in 1993, after a relatively short illness, due to breast cancer. There is no doubt that Sarah would have survived for much longer, with the much improved treatment available today. Unfortunately, we are not alone. All of us know friends or family who have been diagnosed and undergone treatment for breast cancer. It is great to know that our money is going to help fund research in the prevention, detection and treatment of this disease.

Each and every year since we commenced in 2005, we are very proud to say that ZOOZ has raised a substantial amount of money for various charities which are close to our hearts:- Friends of Beit Halochem, Magen David Adom, Kibbutz Kishorit. At our Mother's Day event a couple of years ago, we also raised money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. At ZOOZ we are committed to further charity work in the future for our community. ''
